Imma Merino
La llamada del arte me llegó siendo muy niña. Recuerdo como garabateaba en mis cuadernos y en los márgenes de los libros de texto del colegio, retrataba a mis compañeros y a mis profesores, dibujaba lo que veía a través de las ventanas y en mis sueños llenos de niñez.
Hoy sigo haciéndolo, sigo pintando mis sueños y con ellos también mis esperanzas. Muchas mañanas, al despertarme analizo mis sueños preguntándome si quieren ser pintados. En la soledad del estudio me enfrento al lienzo en blanco sin miedo, sabiendo lo que voy a pintar y mientras pinto suelo hablar con mis obras preguntándoles como quieren ser pintadas, ellas me lo dicen, me susurra, -añade esto o aquello, cambia un color, recuerda este detalle. Solo cuando callan doy por terminada la obra.

The call of art came to me when I was very young. I remember how I scribbled in my notebooks and in the margins of school textbooks, I portrayed my classmates and my teachers, I drew what I saw through the windows and in my childhood dreams.
Today I keep doing it, I keep painting my dreams and with them also my hopes. Many mornings, when I wake up I analyze my dreams asking myself if they want to be painted. In the solitude of the studio I face the blank canvas without fear, knowing what I am going to paint and while I paint I usually talk to my works asking them how they want to be painted, they tell me, he whispers, -add this or that, change color, remember this detail. Only when they are silent do I finish the work.
